Below you will find answers to many common questions about Scots Day 2019.
What and when is Scots Day 2019?
In celebration of our Founder's Day, Scots Day is Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
Scots Day 2019 is Monmouth College's third day of giving, offering easy and fun ways to support what inspires you. This 18 hour and 53 minute campaign begins at 5:00 a.m. CDT and continues through 11:53 p.m. CDT.
How do I make a gift on Scots Day 2019?
Make a donation on this website using a credit or debit card. We track the gifts in real time so everyone can see right away how projects are progressing as they earn matching funds and compete for challenge prizes!
Why should I participate in Scots Day 2019?
Your support provides Monmouth the ongoing resources that are crucial to its growth and success as an elite liberal arts institution. Donors touch lives every day with gifts that support academics, research, faculty development, scholarships, and service to others. It takes the collective annual support of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff to make Monmouth great!
What are Matching and Challenge Gifts?
Supporting challenges and matching opportunities are meaningful ways to demonstrate investment to Monmouth College.
• Matches create an incentive for others to give. When someone makes a gift, the donor matches it 1:1 up to the stated amount.
• Challenges create fun competition between groups or designations.
A complete list of matches and challenges is available on the main landing page of the Scots Day website.
What events are happening on campus for Scots Day 2019?
While the Scots Day headquarters, located in the Center for Science and Business, will be bustling with activity all day long, there will also be an all-campus Ice Cream Social to celebrate at 4:00 p.m. on the Dunlap Terrace (Rain site: Veterans Great Room, Center for Science & Business)! Additionally, faculty and staff can participate early in the day. From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. coffee will be available in the Scots Day headquarters to those employees who make a contribution to #ScotsDay19!
What other ways can I get involved?
• Share on social media using #ScotsDay19 to help spread the word! A tagboard will aggregate posts, allowing visitors to view constant updates from the Monmouth community.
• Become an Ambassador, sharing messages and creating excitement about the day before and during the campaign.
• Spread awareness within your network using your preferred forms of communication and encourage others to join you in giving back to Monmouth College.
• Help the areas of Monmouth that you love most by sharing matches and challenges to maximize the power of donations!
Do pledges count toward Scots Day 2019?
While all contributions are welcomed and appreciated, only outright gifts will count toward Scots Day totals.
