The Fighting Scots Society
Over the years, Fighting Scots Society members' support has benefited thousands of scholar-athletes. Increasing financial support is critical in order to maintain a premier athletics program. Sixty percent of the students at Monmouth College are involved in athletics.
The 2017-18 academic year was a banner one for our scholar-athletes. The Fighting Scots won five of the ten men’s team championships awarded by the Midwest Conference— baseball, basketball, football, and indoor and outdoor track and field. Each of those championship banners is a testament to hard work and dedication.
At the Heart of Every Scot Lies a Passion
Our Fighting Scots also had a banner year in the classroom. More than 70 Monmouth scholar-athletes from 20 sports and 22 majors earned 115 selections on 2017-18 Midwest Conference All-Academic teams. Our scholar-athletes grow, learn and mature through victories and defeats. They also develop knowledge and skills in the classroom, preparing them to receive the most important banner—a Monmouth College diploma.
Support from friends like you helps provide our scholar-athletes exceptional experiences. This year, the Fighting Scots Society is raising funds to renovate the athletic training and hydrotherapy rooms in the Huff Athletic Center. These spaces are crucial to the health, recovery, and productivity of Monmouth College athletes.
Any gift to the Fighting Scots Society will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,500, thanks to Midwest Bank of Western Illinois and Stephen '83 and Cheryl Bloomer.
